All,

Would anyone mind taking a quick look at these tap internals please? I have a new build flat and the bath filler tap has started leaking upwards.

The builder can't/won't share where this was supplied from and I'm not aware of any generic internals that might fit.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards

James.

Like alot of brassware there probably made in China.
Its a minefield out there :(
I also notice the bath side panel has been beautifully and fully tiled so there is no access without smashing tiles. Very considerate of the installer.

it might just be me, but i would agree the bath panel is tiled however i draw the line at beautifully, looks as if the panel is proud of the bath lip to me

Yes, it's not the best workmanship and the only way I can think of getting access is to cut between the tiles and the skirting with a sharp Stanley knife. What a nightmare!

Out of interest, how easy do you think it would be to get a marine ply panel and attach the tiles to that? How easy is it to drill some screws through the tiles to the support frame for future removal?

The question is, do you have spare tiles, or can you get some more?

They are going to get broken/chipped. It's crazy that people are fitting cheap import taps in positions where you can't easily get to them. Some taps are now even fitted to the long side of the bath that's against the wall!

Have ended up going through the wall from the room behind to relace them. Lot easier to patch plaster than rip a bathroom apart!

Sorry to dig up such an old post, but thank you to all who replied. I eventually managed to source the supplier - Feet International (Bermondsey, London). Just as you suggested - they supply Chinese imported bathroom products.
