Hi there.

We have this power washer (2 years old) and sadly The outer cable looks like it's worn away and the fabric sheeth(?) inside is visible.

Its only been used 4-5 times and earlier this year, whilst cleaning the front garden a log fell on it (we have a few random ones around the garden for decoration) and rubbed/worn the rubber cable away as we've moved back and forward

It was a £159 new two years ago.

Is it worth/safe repairing it? We sadly don't have the money for a new one at the moment.

I was wondering about using a heat sleeve with adhesive?

Here is a photo of the power cable/Electrical cable that plugs into the wall. This is halfway down the cable.

ANY advice is welcome <3

Is that the power cable, or the high-pressure hose?

If the latter, which is what it looks like, just repair it. The plastic which is damaged, is just a sleeve - protection from abrasion. I would wrap it well with electrical tape.
Hi, no, sadly it's the power cable.
One end has a plug on the end and the other plugs into the jet wash.

OK.

The cable then, appears to be a tough-armoured one, and assuming the metal armouring is undamaged, the same fix will work of simply repairing it with tape. If you can remove a plug from the end, to enable heat-shrink to be fitted, then even better, use that.

Buy some "self amalgamating" tape, ideal for repairing that - it fuses together as you apply it.

Thank you!

So would heatshrink make it waterproof etc? It's hard to see if the metal armouring is damaged as it's just the fabric sheathing under it.

Should do if applied properly but as there don't appear to be any exposed cores then you only need mecanical protection ( from future log falls ) and tape would be adequate

Thank you!

You can buy heat shrink cable that has adhesive inside to make it "watertight". It will however make the cable slightly more rigid at that point.
