Arch-Formers - Advice required please !

I have just created an opening between two rooms and I am intending to fix arch formers before I get a plasterer in.
At the moment the opening is framed with timber (existing stud wall).
Do I need to line the timber frame with plaster board before I fix the metal arch formers or can they just be attached direct to the timber frame ?
If I attach the arch formers to the timber frame will the plasterer be able to plaster over the reamining exposed timber ???

we make our own arches using plasterboards and fill in the 'shoulders' with board off cuts and bonding compound.

i have given an explaination here, this was based on a masonry wall, same principal as studwall exept it is easier to fit to studwall.

From a style point of view round arches went out of fashion in the 80s. Much better square in my opinion.

Ask a few mates which they prefer.
