Are you allowed to have an appliance plugged into a socket in another room permanently? Ie. Alexa in bathroom, socket in loft?

How about a polysytrene 'collar' around the inside of the hole and a polystyrene patch on the back wall.
Should reduce any condensation forming in there.

If you're worried about condensation on the speaker, could you not just put it in a plastic bag or put a vapour barrier between it and the room?
 
That's a good idea too - I'll have a look for a vapour barrier that doesn't block sound. Thank you!! :)
