In a two storey property;

On the ground floor I have perimeter protection. All windows have sensors and the main door is set as an 'entry exit'.

Also in the ground floor area there are PIR's.

So if I set all the window and door sensors as area B. All other sensors are zone A.

The idea of this configuration is so at night time Area B can be set; so during the night we can come downstairs and move around freely without tripping an alarm.

When we leave the property we can do a full set, which will include Areas A and B.

Is this a sensible configuration?

No .....you have 3 part sets , programmed by ticking the omit in part 1,2 ,3 boxes ... So part set one could be perimeter.... Tick the omit boxes for all the internal zones you want off, part two could be night set tick the boxes for what you want off at night eg landing... To set press part and scroll to the setting you want ( which can be named ) and press yes ( if quick arm is enabled on the keypad ) this is how you would normally set up the system.
