Ariston cooker hood

I have an Ariston AH6F.E cooker hood that has a round filter which looks like this

I've no idea if it's a carbon filter or not. I don't have a manual for the hood at all.

It extracts to the outside, so would I really need a carbon filter? Also there doesn't appear to be a grease filter fitted, which I thought would be all I needed since it extracts outside?
