I have an Ariston EP15U 2Kw water heater that has stopped working. The light does not come on but the fuse is good and the electric supply is live. Water flows OK but does not get hot. Any suggestions? (prefferably clean ones!)

It may be that the thermal cut out has operated this is a manual reset cutout that operates if the thermostat fails or water gets too hot for some reason, strictly speaking you should investigate the reason for the cut out activating before resetting (if indeed this is what has happened) the good news is that even if the element has failed which is the most expensive part these arent too expensive
