Hi all, we have recently purchased a pair of electric reclining armchairs that each have a USB socket close to the control buttons.

Stupid question may be, but what sort of device are they designed to power ?
There are no clues in the booklet(s) that accompany the chairs.

Many thanks for any answer.

my guess
they are charges for phones, ipads various items that would charge from a usb
but not 100% , may have another use specif to the chair maybe

I have those and use them to charge my kindle, ipod, ipad, etc

It's just a "you can plug in and power your phone" convenience - nothing special about them. Our sofa has them as well.

As above - it would be to power or charge your USB powered devices.
Additionally, I would mention, there should be a current rating on the socket - probably between 1 and 2.4A.
This might give you an idea of the speed of charge of the devices you plug in, or whether it can fully power some larger devices.
