Artex removal

Hi i'm new here and i'm no pro but was wondering what ways there are in removing or covering artex as most of my house is covered in it?

You have 3 options:

1. Use a steam stripper to remove it - this is messy and is not really recommended as some consider the 'fumes' from the Artex to be dangerous.

2. Fill over it - coat it wih PVA, then use a ready mixed filler to smooth over it, sand and then coat again with PVA and decorate as normal.

3. Get an expert in to do it :)
 
Hi,
Get a plasterer in,get a quote for the whole job,or room by room and have the walls and ceilings skim coated.You will get a far better job than trying to scrape it off with all that mess.
