Hi

I have just painted my artexed ceiling in the bedroom using one coat emulsion to find it is flaking / peeling off in places !!

The house is 7 years old , all ceilings are the same in every room , this is the only room that this has occured as I have emulsioned all the other artexed ceilings without any problems ??

I was thinking of applying Pva ( watered down 50/50 ) to see if this will fix and adhere the artex back onto the ceiling and re touch up with emulsion .

Anyone out there got any other ideas or offer any assistance as I am loathed to start scraping problem artex off the ceiling

Kind Regards

Anthony

I think you could try the PVA. It sounds like the water from teh paint is making teh artex soften and peel. A coat of PVA rolled on a left for a day might seal it up and stop the problem. It's worth a shot. Let us know how you get on, for future ref, please
