I've seen first hand schools in schools the condition asbestos. I used to survey but like Thomasthepiperson who I don't know, I now do training. The issue is many of those doing maintenance in schools don't know what asbestos looks like, don't check the reports and are damaging asbestos where our kids are sitting. Our standards are crazy high compared to other countries in Europe. So yes it is important and a worry.

Well 10 years of Tory cuts means schools cant afford toilet paper, so IZAL would be an upgrade.

Maidenhead school asks parents to buy toilet roll

Most tradesmen over a certain age (?) have worked with in enviroments that contained asbestos dust and have a high risk of asbestosis

I went to a school which had fire door inner sandwich layer exposed and people used to kick it, and there was loose ceiling tiles. I think a lot of people are unaware of how bad the problem is in schools. A good survey isn't going to stop kids damaging asbestos materials. It should be removed fully inside the building. Lower risk materials like cement, and Gaskets are obviously less of a concern.
