Asbestos

I was involved recently with the HSE investigating a few holes drilled through artex. The contractors had to provide evidence of current training, their method statements and risk assessments were scrutinized and questions, and their logs of drilling through materials were checked.

There was a presumption that they had done something wrong, and had to prove otherwise.

All for a few drilled holes, of non licensed non notifiable work.

Because it isn't. It's quite simple.
Means nothing just because you say it. You might claim to a Building Surveyor, but in the real world you spend all day on an internet forum, inbetween trying to google the answers.

Its a foam backed carpet where the backing has gone hard and disintegrated ,we had quite a few rooms with the same dust under the carpets in high wear areas. second picture looks like old lino?
litl
Yup as said old foam carpet & lino which did not contain asbestos.
Lino is made of cork/wood dust and linseed oil with a type of sacking as a back.

inbetween trying to google the answers.

And I am good at it. And that is because I don't link to some random irrelevant US site like an amateur Googler. SMH.

Without googling, can you advise where you have found carpet to be on the list of known ACM in the UK?

And, when you've finished reading the list of ACMs, have a look at the source information for the website

"All information provided on this website is – to our knowledge – accurate, however it must be stated that this information has been created by sourcing information from numerous other websites. As such, the Asbestos Information Centre can not be held entirely responsible for any inaccuracies."

You should be as your whole life revolves around an internet forum and google.

have a look down the list for carpets.

Lol. Wow, that's an authoritative site. Who are the "aic" again?

That's two crap links in four posts. That's a 50% useless rate. You need to up your google-fu.

Look at some of your posts, which are in a different league of crap. eg telling someone that blue battens are that colour because of the preservative.
Just one of many.
