Just bought a laptop, spare of the moment thing, but before I open it will it be ok for my partners son to play games on and do his school work on.

Otherwise I will not open it and take it back to the shop

I am not familiar with this unit but it should be fine for doing school work e.g. Word documents and small spreadsheets.

I think he might be disappointed trying to run the latest generation of games on such a small low resolution screen. Most games these days require a minimum specification to run which I suspect will be more than you have with this unit. Perhaps worthwhile for you to check game requirements against your machine spec.

thanks, I thought so when I left the shop

As my machine struggles to work some of the new games out and it has 2mb of memory and the latest graphics crad.

Think I will take it back....................
