Asylum hotels

I wonder how many people on here who were born in the UK but have one parent from abroad would think of themselves as foreign.

Yes but not many, the percentage of genuine ones will be very low, I cannot give figures but you can assume very low by what we see.
Do you agree then that we should return, say, people fleeing persecution/torture to the initial country they fled from?

Well look at it this way, if that was to happen then don't you think that genuine refugees would think twice before coming here ilegally?

In fact, hasn't @motorbiking himself mentioned his foreign ancestry. I wonder whether he considers himself part of the problem and one of the sheep.

Does that mean you would? Vulnerable women, for example?

But this is not just a problem that Farage is using as a political tool, it is a real problem hat needs addressing by any party. Only Farage has a plan, you keep harping on that he hasn't but he obviously has, Starmer is just making it worse and is on the brink of losing all control.

The Conservative government, had many years to deal with it, produced a scheme at great public expense, which showed signs of working. Labour have since had a year, where they cancelled the previous scheme, followed by nothing much having any effect. Reform, recently announced what they would do, if/when elected - what they announced was solutions which most of us who want an end to the problem, have suggested as the solution. Therefore, what's not to like.

Reform's well-supported announcement, was then quickly followed by Labour, hinting at using similar ideas.

I have said previously, genuine refugees should receive help in a humanitarian way rather than the current system that allows it to everyone.

But that isn't Farage's plan?

I've said before that this is worth a serious discussion, it doesn't take long to pick his proposals apart.

I agree but something has to be done about this problem and he is at least coming up with real solutions and not pandering to the human rights of rights and wrongs, the illegal non genuine refugees claiming assylum are using these laws to their own benefit and preventing the genuine ones from receiving the support that they need. They are to blame rather than Farage.

You've just said you don't agree with his plan. I really don't get the hold he has over some people.
He has a better plan and has a solution that would and will work, same as the Rwanda scheme would have worked given the chance

How do you know which are genuine and which aren’t?

That’s why we have an asylum application process, during which time we don’t know.
