Hi im new my name is Steve im not new to working with my hands, I am however new to attick/ loft convertions. This thread is for help in my reptile room convertion (No heavy traffic and will never be used as a bedroom).the room will house my snakes .i have run out of room in the spare room and the kids sleep over more frequently so i have to clear the bedroom that im currently using for my snakes. Now i have a few pictures of the loft and would like to ask you experienced guys a few questions before i start this ..
Question one would i have to make changes to the floor other than normal boards?
heres a couple of pictures of the floor please excuse the mess
Secondly i want to insulate this room as cheap as possible my question is what can i use on the actual roof to insulate ? i wont be using that fibreglass stuff as it will be hazardous to my snakes ,i was thinking about the polystyreen with foil or ??
The wood thats upright will be removed and replaced closer to the out side edge to give the room more width
on the out side bricked walls would it be ok to just dry line these? what type plaster boards would i use if its ok ?
Thanks for any replies from a newbie
