Audi A5 Coupe 2015 P0299 Fault Code!

Hi All

My Audi A5 2015 2L 2015 era when being driven on the Motorway went into Limp Mode. AA came and scanned car and appears Po299 code was registered but could fix the problem. The Car has only done 54K Miles with full Audi Service History.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue is?

This fault code indicates poor performance from the turbocharger, and I’d guess the wastegate ( that prevents over pressurising) has stuck open.....you can see the actuator on the side of the turbo, and it could be vacuum or electronically moved. You should be able to move the thing manually too.
Check any rubber pipes going to it at the same time.
If its ECU controlled then its much more specialised diagnostics required, I’m afraid.

Many thanks for the info, luckily car is just under warranty so will be sent back to the dealer from which it was bought.
