Hi am I right in thinking that for a petrol 1.3 mk4 fiesta there is only one belt, the auxiliary drivebelt? There's no other belt like a fan belt hidden anywhere is there? Only that I've never had them replaced and I'm thinking about it. The drivebelts in both fiestas are quite glazed and I wondered if a new one would quieten things down a bit? Also as far as I know they have never been changed either. I'm guessing if it goes it's a disaster! Cheers

If your Fiesta is the genuine pushrod operated 1.3 Kent OHV series model, then there is no timing belt...if its the 1.25 Zetec then there is - likewise if it has the CVH engine, as these have overhead cams.
Can you post a pic of the motor?
The auxiliary belt drives the water pump, alternator and PAS pump if there is one.
As all of these engines are transverse, the cooling fan is an electric one.

Aye, the good old Endura.
No timing belt on this one, the auxiliary belt is down the left side of the engine as you are looking at it. I think you can see it in the pic, driving the PAS pump.
