B&D cordless drill

In 2008 I bought a 12v Black & Decker cordless drill. It hasn't been used very much and always stored with battery section seperate. In fact it still looks new but because I was stupid enough to allow it to fall off the step ladder so now it is buggered and I was told that I would have to replace the chuck.
I would be greatful if anyone would happen to know what size allen key I need to remove the chuck. I've never attempted this before, so I shall go right now to try and seek some advice.
Also in the meantime, I will keep a look out for the allen key size.

Open the chuck to its widest and look inside to see what you require to remove it.

Thanks for your help. I read somewhere on the internet that once the chuck was fully open, I next had to insert an allen key to release the chuck. Of course I have shon a light into the jaws of the chuck but couldn't see much, plus where I read this advice, they forgot to mention the size of allen key, I tried all mine but none fitted, that is the reason I am asking.
I've never needed to remove a drill chuck before so my knowledge on the subject is a bit slim. Hopefully someone who knows something about drill chucks can either answer my question or tell me where I am going wrong and advise me what I need to do.
I appreciate your reply but I really need some advice off someone who has some knowledge of that particular drill thanks anyway.

Are you sure its an allen key and not a crosshead screw?
