B&D cordless drill - chuck stuck

Hi

I have a B&D cordless drill. The chuck is locked in the 'grip' position. No matter how hard I try I cannot release the chuck.

Any ideas how to fix?
 
Presumably this is a keyless chuck?

Is there a bit stuck in it? If so can you put the bit in a vice and turn the chuck with some Stilsons?

Sorry, yes it's a keyless chuck. Yes, there is a screw driver bit in. Don't have a vice but will try and turn the chuck with some mole grips.
 
The keyless chuck on my carp drill (JCB) seems to lock - in order to unlock it I have to tighten it until it clicks and then it'll undo fine.
