[b]outside tap [/b]no water coming through why?

Help our outside tap has stoped working I have tried replacing the tap but still no water.

The tap runs off the water supply into the tolet. Used to work but just got slower and slower and then stopped.

Any suggestions on what to do?

If you can trace the pipes inside the house to the tap, see if you can see any valves or odd looking sections on the pipe.

You get one way valves generaly on the pipe upto the tap so the water cannot flow back into the supply and contaminate it. anytime Ive had a garden tap stop its been this thats stopped working and blocked flow all together.

dont know if theres a fix for them but they cos pennies (well a few quid probably) to replace.

is the connection to the cold water pipe a self tapper? it has a handle like a basin tap but smaller?

yes it is and it has been fully turned on
