well do a gas rate on the appliance (if it stays alight long enough) then compare the gas consumption\heat output figure with the data plate. - this might give you an idea before you take it apart.

You could easily find the procedure for checking burner pressures for any gas appliance on the internet, Google for it.

As long as you have a manometer to find out the actual setting then the use manual should state settings.
