Hi everyone. My first post in this part of the forum, go easy on me!
I've just replaced a euro cylinder In my back door and it had an extra device that meant I needed to take the handle off and then undo an Allen key bolt that was holding two further pieces of aluminium around the cylinder. The bolt was screwed from the inside. When I got the cylinder out it had the first half of the device attached to it with grub screws (the outside half).
Can anyone name the device I am trying to describe? If so, what is its purpose and can it be purchased and retrofitted to any other door or is it even necessary?
I have changed my cylinders to securit snappers (better than no snappers at all?) until I can get some quality ABS ones. Is there any other recommendations regarding my choice of locks?
Many thanks,
Stu.
