Backbox fitting

I've already tried multitool and it works but it's quite slow in old hard brick. Personally, I prefer the grinder + chisel angle, it's faster even if it's messier.

On the matter of dust, which has been a real pain so far and the wife says I've killed the hoover, has anyone used and these extra hands?

Use an old vac.. Mark the shape out, then drill multiple holes, within the marks, with an sds drill, whilst drilling, have someone hold the end of a vac., close to the drill bit. Mark the drill bit with tape, for drill depth. Finally, swap the sds bit, for a chisel bit, to join up the holes.

I have one, and have tried one of those square sds, box cutters. They might work on soft breeze, but they are useless on anything harder, like brick.

You need to drill the 4 corners with a 6mm bit, then use this

and then use the square cutter.

I built my own with the bottom of a clear square bottle (white spirit bottle)

A few years ago I was decorating a large extension. The kitchen fitters had to core drill for the hob hood. I was expecting my work to be covered in dust.

They used a cardboard box which they taped to the wall and then cut a hole in it to accommodate the core bit. I was impressed at how well it worked.

About 20 years ago, when chasing walls at home, I made blade cover for my angle grinder out of MDF so that I could could connect my dust extractor to it. It worked pretty well(ish). I now use a dedicated wall chaser. Only one run needed and you are guaranteed to have to parallel slots.
