Because Parliament is remainer in sentiment and wants the UK to remain in the EU.
But that's what quitters voted for...

'Getting their country back'...

Which means passing on decision making to their 'elected' representatives...

Representatives who aren't beholden to carry out the result of an advisory referendum...

Surely quitters knew that all along?

After all, they kept telling us they knew exactly what they were voting for (y)

But a simple law change could revoke A50...

Return of the 'advisory' tag :)

It doesn't change the status of the referendum. It was still advisory, as will all referendums be, unless legislated to be otherwise. It just makes Brexit a statute.

Currently representatives are not carrying out the result of an advisory referendum, further legislation has passed since then.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Which contradicts your earlier comment.

It was advisory at the time.
Article 50 was voted on.
No longer advisory
A referendum was and remains advisory.
If legislation is passed to enact whatever the referendum was about, it does not change the status of referendum. It remains advisory.
The legislation is just a piece of legislation based on the outcome of the referendum, That legislation could just as easily ignore the outcome of the referendum, it still wouldn't change the status of the referendum.

On the positive side, the last 2 years has shown the UK is awash with the best negotiators in the world.
Really?

Then why was there so much argument and bickering amongst the people instead of employing those "best negotiators" to spend the time more productively?
