Hi Everyone,

Not sure how to troubleshoot this issue, for the past 4 weeks i've started noticing a bad smell coming from the area where the unvented cylinder is located, there is a Vailant system boiler beside it with pipes running beside, I dont see any water leaks near the cylinder or the pipes. It would appear that the smell increases as I run the hot water, but not entirely sure if my troubleshoooting is correct or if the cylinder is the culprit.

many thanks,

- Josh

Bad smells always alert us to the fact that there may be a flue or other boiler fault causing burnt gasses to come into the room.

That could include the killer CO and that should be taken seriously.

The official recommendation would always be that you should get a competent CORGI to check it ASAP and not use the boiler until you do.
