Hi

Just been tiling using BAL adhesive but had to take a couple of tiles off. When i removed them, there was wet cream coloured paint underneath, now this paint had two other coats on top of it! Those two coats were fine, although they peeled away with the tiles and adhesive.

Does anyone know why the original coat of paint (which was applied to bare plaster about 10 years ago) is now wet after fixing tiles using BAL?

Would this cure itself by drying out over a few days? if not what options are there as the customer wants the tiles on these walls.

the paint on the walls emulsion or gloss paint..either way it should be either removed or sanded down or scribbed,,so the adhesive has a "key" to bond with.
