Had to turn off stopcock as was fitting new toilet and the isolation valve to the toilet broke - so stopcock was switched off while new isolation valve was fitted, and ever since this was done there has been a banging noise in the water pipes - have tried turning on all taps and turning off one by one and flushing toilets for a while but this hasn't worked. The banging noise happens even when taps aren't turn on/off or toilet flushed - is there another solution - hope I've given enough details, thanks.

Had to turn off stopcock in the kitchen - now pipes are banging , what is the soluation please

More info, why did you have to turn off the stop tap. When did the pipes start banging. Do they bang with the stop tap turned off, or on.????????

Maybe you've turned the stopcock on further than it was before increasing the pressure causing water hammer? Or where its been turned off and on, if youve been doing work on the system its a possibility of an air lock.
