Hi
I got this water hammer problem (banging noise when turning off the cold tap or washing machine inlet valve closed) recently. I think it started after I turned off and on the stopcock to repair a toilet overflow leaking. My quesion is, shall I leave the stopcock fully open or turn it down a bit to get rid of this water hammer? I have seen contradictary suggestions on the web: some suggest turn down the stopcock, some say to open it fully. Many thanks.
