Have a good size room under the bungalow built 1939 ( Lawrence Style- Glasgow ) which I intend to make into a room for my kids.
Only 2m high but has already had floor concreted with DPM but has the gas boiler in the corner. Cavity wall on one side only with new DG window and air brick.
Ages ago I put space blanket in the ceiling as bedroom is above and intend to leave that uncovered. Allows access to the pipework and electrics.
Only trying to make this a warm/damp free space. Been reading up on websites etc but would like some answers before I take the plunge!
1. Use Quinn therm sheets 25mm attached to internal wall of room using approx 50mm x 25mm furing strips. Seal up with metal tape.
2. Cover with plaster board which I screw in onto the same furing strips.
3. Fit the skirting boards but leave the ceiling as is.
Hope that makes sense.
