I have two wash basins with what I think are called "click-clack" wastes, that is with a central button - push to open the waste (button stays depressed), push again to close the waste (button comes back up).

One of them will no longer stay in the open position. The button can be depressed but won't stay down in the open position. I have compared the two units but cannot see any external difference but clearly something is not locking into place. Are these units serviceable or do I just get a new one?

[Also one is threaded into place via the thread on the end of the click-clack unit, the other one isn't, it just sits in the waste opening.] How should they be mounted?
