bath shower taps

when i push button on top of taps to use shower a lot of water still comes out of taps so very little water goes to shower head.how would i change washer for shower function.thanks for any help bill

thanks for suggestion but the knob just keeps turning.under taps there is something like a huge phillips screw.could this be where washer is located and if so any suggestions to remove iy would be appreciatted. cheers bill

Close hot and cold taps tightly. Turn button anti-clockwise,it will screw off. depending on type of taps, there should be either a phillips screw or valve. Both of which are easily removed. the washer sits attatched.

Sometimes there are 2 flats for a thin spanner, under the knob.
