Fitting a bath at the moment.
I have fitted a standard plastic bath waste:
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101958&ts=64345&id=91024#

On testing the overflow, there was a slight leak where the overflow tube meets the main waste outlet.
Can this be fixed by removing and reattaching the overflow tube? Or will it need a dab of silicon or something to ensure a good seal?
Anyone had experience of overflow leaks when fitting basic plastic wastes such as these?

Thanks
Mike

I think one didn't leak, once :D

Yup, silicones the order of the day.

So, it's a common problem it seems. I'll bung a load of silicone round the male connectors and refit the plastic tube.
However, I doubt that in normal bathing conditions the overflow will ever be tested as severely as my full bath overflow test, unless I leave the tap running and doze off.
Thanks

The bath waste I just fitted didn't leak at the overflow, only at the trap seal and the waste backnut seal. However, I may add a drop of silicone just to be safe.

The overflow will be under full pressure every time the bath is emptied, will it not ?
