We had our bathroom tiled and sealed with a sealant. because of the movement in the bathroom, water appears to be seeping through the sealant and down the walls.

The builders who tiled the bathroom, put a plastic strip around the edge of the bath and then used a sealant. Was this a cowboy job?

I heard I need quadrant tiles, what are these? These are supposed to replace the first layer of tiles around the bath??

Also Toppstiles do a Pro Seala Strip, would this work?

How long ago was it installed?
Is the work guaranteed?

What is the bath made of (acrylic / steel / cast)?

Have a look under the bath - what are the feet resting on / are the feet screwed to the floor / are the locking nuts (if fitted) tight up to the brackets?

The plastic sealing strip is not necessary on a good installation - if the bath has been put in properly then a sealant bead will do a good neat job.

Quadrant tiles can sit on top of the lowest tile course - they cover the join between the wall and bath but will not stop the leak if the bath is still moving.

Check that the bath is installed correctly and then fill it full of water, and re-seal the wall/bath junction. Let the sealant cure before drain the bath.

GET THE INSTALLER BACK AND GET THEM TO DO THE JOB PROPERLY
