So having two bathrooms refitted and the builder put a ceiling extractor fan in each bathroom.

The fan goes straight into the loft, however he's just told me that he can't vent the air to outside as there is not enought space under the eaves to fit an extractor fan outlet.

He says it is fine to vent into the attic as there would not be enough steam being generated and my loft is huge.

Any ideas is this fine or not?

No it's not, he's fobbing you off.

Because he knows he will need to fit a tile vent and he doesn't want to do that.

Venting into the loft is fine if you want a very damp loft. If you want a nice dry loft, the vent must go to outside, as xr4x4 has said if there's not enough space to get down into the eaves you'll need to have him fit vent tiles http://www.rooftrader.co.uk/slate-tile-vents/tile-vents/universal-vent-tile.html

Incidentally those all-in-one ceiling vents with built in extractors are RUBBISH. In-line fans are much better. Make sure there aren't any low points where water could collect, the pipework should rise continuously to the vent tile
