Hi,

I am after a bathroom extractor fan to be fitted from scratch, does anyone know what type of extractor would best for a small bathroom with a small window in a two bedroom house.

I am pretty good with DIY and basic electrics and would like to know if there is such a fan i can install myself with ease. There is an existing pull cord in the bathroom for the light switch and a box on the wall above the door which to me looks like it used to supply an electric shower at some point but has now been blanked off.

Your thoughts would be great, especially those of the not so sarcastic nature.

Many thanks Mandy

Hi mate
I did the same. Kind of taught myself house electrics doing my bathroom. I had a light switch but i didnt want my fan to come on everytime someone went to the bathroom in the night, so i installed a seperate pull cord with neon.
Do you want the light switch to operate the fan as well as a light? I bought a 150mm fan from tool station but everywhere sells them. I just had to run a 3 core and earth to it. Earth, Neutral, live and switched live. Its easy really depending on how you want to do it.
