I would like to install a plain extractor fan ( no timer ) seperate from the bathroom light.
If i take a lead from the lighting circuit ( via junction box) down to FSU on the outside of the bathroom, then on in to a pull cord switch and then fan.
Would this be ok??[/wiki]

On the face of it, yes.
Is this going to be a wall mounted fan or a ceiling fan?
Is the existing circuit protected by a 30mA RCD?
Will any cabling you install be less than 50mm from the surface of the plaster and without mechanical protection?

The extractor fan will be ceiling fitted, circuit is protected and the length of cable that will be behind plasterboard will be in pvc conduit.
Rest of cable will be run along ceiling joists (above 50mm ).
Will the cable in the ceiling/attic need to be covered in anyway as the insulation will be along side it??
