Hallo

My extractor fan in the bathroom doesnt power down. It was set to 30 mins but it wont turn off, I have tweaked the timer but again it doesnt turn off. The extractor is turned on via a pull cord. The lights are on a dimmer switch outside of the bathroom so they are seperate.

Any help would be great

Have you recently fitted or altered it?

(wrong?)

Hi

It has never switched off , to switch off I have to turn it off permanantly

Fans with timers are usually wired so that they are switched on when the lights come on, then the timer holds them "on" for a period after the light goes off. If yours is independent of the light switch then it could not work that way.

Otherwise:

either the timer is faulty; or the incoming live wire is in the wrong terminal.

If you can post a picture of the fan's terminals, showing the connections, that may help. Also say what make and model it is.

Ok thanks John. I will most likely not get chance to look til the morning so I will post as soon as I have chance

Kind Rgds
