HiI am repositioning a few rooms.
We have a long hallway with doors leading off.
At the end of the hallway it ends as a "T" shape - you turn left
for 3m and enter the kitchen which does not have a door but an arch.
This 3m space has the upright fridge & freezer.
If you turn right this is the site of the new bathroom.
Originally I was going to position two doors at right angles close
together, so that off the hall each door led to the kitchen or bathroom.
But it is very tight. What I'd like to do now is stud & partition across the
hallway, and install a door around 1m before it opens up at the "T" section.
This would now be the start of the kitchen (but not food preparation).
For the bathroom - fit a door within the 3m "T" area.
So, you walk along the hallway - open the door which straddles the
hallway - at this point you are in the kitchen area (fridge/freezer) - to enter
the kitchen proper you have to walk 3m

The distance from the W.C. to the bathroom door is 4m
The distance from the bathroom door to the arch of the kitchen is 3m
The distance from the bathroom door to the kitchen sink/worktops is 6m
The distance from the W.C. to the kitchen sink/worktops is 10m
The distance from the straddled hallway door to the bathroom door is 1.5m

Can I do this?
A few years back, I remember reading that the regs were changed which
meant you didn't have to have 2 doors between a kitchen and bathroom.
Just want to make sure this is correct before I start.
