Hi,

when I removed our old bathroom we had a mirror with a light in it which has left a wire out the wall that looks to be on the lighting circuit. When I put the new mirror up can I add a single socket on to the cable to plug an Alexa into it only? It will be over the sink fixed to the wall and away from the bath/shower area.

'Normal' sockets are not allowed within 3m. of the edge of a bath, shower etc.

You could have a shaver socket to BS EN 61558-2-5 - I don't know if Alexa has a power supply or normal plug.

Read about a few other folks using them, the bathroom don’t get steamy and is well ventilated.

If you really want Alexa in the bathroom, could you connect it to socket in the loft or adjoining room and mount it on the ceiling or wall?
