I'm looking at sorting the walls out in our bathroom as the plaster was all blown. I wanted to leave the tiles in place as they're all okay but just replace the plaster around them

Would it best to take all the painted walls back to brick and re board / skim or try and patch without taking too much off?

If it’s sound, I’d fix beads around the window, the render type beads not the thin coat beads, pva the hell out of it, and use bonding to bring it all out flat and level, then devil float and skim it.
Otherwise, yeah you’d have to knock it all off which may knacker the tiles and plasterboard dabbed on may end up proud of the tiles so wouldn’t really work.
