Hi All
Looking at replacing the ceiling light in bathroom. The mounting point on the ceiling is in the Outside Zone 2300mm above floor, however the light I am looking at is 100mm from ceiling to lowest part of the globe. The part of the globe that drops into Zone 2 is probably IP67 (although not stated by manufacurer) as it is solid plastic. Am I right in assuming that if any part of a light fitting enters Zone 1/2 even if it is mounted in the Outside Zone it is deemed to be in Zone 1/2?

Only the part in the Zone.

So you could have a normal not-very-IP rose on a ceiling outside of the Zones and only need the bit hanging down into a Zone to be suitable.

You shouldn't assume that a light has any IP rating not stated by the maker.
