Hi all,
my baxi combi is playing up, its saying L7 and something id just spinning around (pump?)
If i switch it off and on again then turn the water on it just goes straight to L7.
Help no hot water or heating
L7 is Primary flow (dhw circuit)
When it started normaly it would make a spinning noise then gas and spark, now just whirring.

Hope you can help
Cheers

Check the flow switch on the flow pipe, top of boiler. The contacts should close when the pump runs, unless there's an obstruction.
Fiddy to change if access is tight.

You dont say it, so is the water pressure correct at about 1.5 Bar ?

Tony

Hi guys yeh the pressure is fine, its now saying L8 and just whirring, i have changed the pressure release valve.
Could it need more pressure in the chamber is it 12 psi ?
Also is it the flow switch thats bolted to the boiler then the pipe off that

cheers

what does L8 mean?? and what is 12psi in Bar??? should be about the 1 bar mark when there is no water in CH circuit of boiler.

Exactly which boiler is it? I can't find fault codes in the manual.
Check the flow switch - it'll take you several seconds...
A lot less than changing random bits like pressure relief valve.

i think its the primary flow switch, if this was faulty the boiler would't fire up is that right
That's what the first post said.....

If you haven't got the manual get it at BAxi or partsarena.com

Hi Chris the boiler is a Baxi 130 he (same as the heading) I changed the pressure release valve a few months ago due to loseing pressure and it worked a teat, at the same time a few drips were coming from the primary flow switch so it needs changing anyway(i've just taken it off). I will fit another one tomorrow lets hope it works.

I thought L7 was Primary flow (DHW) ???

Easy way to check would have been with a multimeter on the two pin connector to flow switch unplugged then powered on/off to get pump spinning!

sorry L8 is primary flow CH

i get both mostly L7, could it be the primary flow switch? as for testing i'm just a jack of all trades no plumber, but i know my way around a little.

Both L7 and L8 are primary flow switch faults, display depends on the last position of the diverter valve.

DHW flow switch fault is indicated by Lt

Take note of Baxpoti. Most independent installers haven't a clue on these boilers (myself included  ). It was 3 of these boilers faulting under warranty that stopped me fitting Baxi's. (rightly or wrongly  )

Its not a model I see very often.

I do have one in the store which was taken out after only 4 years. It seems someone could not fix it as so many bits had been tampered with.

These seem pretty much like any other boiler to me.

Sorted,
it was the flow switch, the inside of the old one sheared off! Now i sometimes get L0 which is ignition, i've had a fiddle and its working, but i might need to fit a new ignition panel- I wouldn't have a baxi again  It was here when i moved in, infact i would go back to the old boiler systm anyday.

Lots of fault for ignition lock out,

try new electrodes first, and perhaps inner combusion door seal, and while you are at it how does the condensate trap look.

This is into RGI teritory tho, might be worth getting Baxi out.
