We had this installed in 2002 and have never really been satisfied with the performannce. It 'clicks' for ages (over 100 times sometimes) to ignite the boiler, it then turns itself off ! we have to manually turn it down and then up again to reignite . it is becoming a real pain. It has been serviced annually. Any help gratefully received !

Does it do it when he is checking it during service...
Faulty dirty pilot assy /dirty air intake hole ,ignition lead damaged or loose and shorting to boiler casing are the things to be looking at

It wouldn't be Npower or BG doing the annual service, would it?

the ignition electrode is **** on these, bends or rots away too easily and is often impossible to reset without breaking it.

i carry one in the van and just swap the whole pilot assembly now.
