I went to a warranty call on a boiler and it was fitted 3m up above the stairs with no room stat and the only way the tenants could turn the heat off was to turn off the rads !!!
Yes, it did have an integral bypass but it had become stuck open because of a bit of dirt in the unflushed system!
Since the installer was a firm owned by a cousin of a regular poster we did not charge for the visit !!!
