Help. I'm having a strange problem with my boiler. The CH pressure keeps rising to about 3 bar.The top up link is removed so I've no idea how it keeps re-pressurising itself. When I turn on the hot water the pressure g/g goes up and then back when I turn the tap off.At present I'm relieving the pressure using the white plastic drain cock next to the press.relief v/v. Any ideas anyone? The boiler is 4 years old.

The plate heat exchanger is probably leaking internally.

To prove this, turn off the cold mains to the boiler

HI

This is common fault with these boilers.Hot Water heat exchanger need replacing.

Many thanks for the speedy replies. Looks like I need to replace the plate heat exchanger. Fairly straight forward??
I'm reasonably competent with a spanner!

HI

make sure to drain fully first because water will run down on the P.C.B.
use plastic bags to cover p.c.b.etc.
