The Which report thought they were good but they dont seem to be the favourite of many boiler engineers.
We are more likely to suggest a Vaillant or Viessmann.
Tony
thanks, tony.
is there a boiler on the market as good as the baxi which you could get on a budget of £600 (fittings included)?
As per Tony, buy german if poss. Having said that, I have attended the Baxi training on this appliance and fitted a couple, all OK so far. The Potterton HeatMax is effectively a 'contract' (i.e cheaper) DuoTec in disguise, with minor internal changes. could be a low as £560 + VAT, so still not under £600.
Now, that was the good news....
Who is gonna be fitting it, registering it with the manufacturer and to GasSafe?. Even if it was a 24kw Combi out and one of these in, I would still be looking at say, another £550 to include a chemical flush, pipe & fittings, condensate connection, magnetic filter, flue etc. It really is not at all like unplugging the toaster and popping the kettle back in to the socket. but, many customers seem oblivious to this...
