Baxi Solo 2 40 PF

After some advice please.
Start the boiler up it fires ok you can hear it heating up nicely, about 1 min later crash bang whallop and it overheats.
Checked round the system for air figure its the pump as its burning hot but bled and water there, any advice where to check next?

your pump is not spinning check it see if its stuck

do you know where the pump is

its usually in the airing cupboard near your cylinder

yes and i can isolate both sides

undo the screw marked bleed and see if the shaft is spinning

it will weep so have a cloth handy

dont isolate it

can you see a big silver screw in the front?

undone the bleed screw just hot water cant see any movement

you should be able to see another screw inside the pump

try and free it up buy spinning it with a screwdriver

spinning like a dream (well a little noisey) you think its worth changing now?

if the valves work then it may be idea to spend 40 and pop a new one in

was it stuck BTW? did you free it
