Hello,

Would like to know if anybody can help please?

Yesterday came home from work and boiler is on but nothing happening! I mean lights are on but nobody home.....
No noise coming from boiler, lights say boiler is on, fan light isn't on, and overheat light is on.

I've heard it mentioned on here before that these combis have pcd problems, could it be this or could it be the fan? what should I expect?

Thank you your help is greatly received.

Daniel

Try resetting the boiler and check your bypass arrangements are to M.I.
also check the pump is spinning.

unlike to previous post i will try to help!

turn the control knob to off wait 20 seconds then turn back on to about mid range. boiler should reset. check that the system has water in it (possible blocked feed from tank), pump is turning freely - flat screwdriver put on to pump and other end to your ear you will hear the pump running slight grating or not running a buzzing.

if fan light does not light it would indicate a fan failure
as for bypass the boiler has a pump overrun so the water must be able to go somewhere when it leaves boiler a mid position valve will do this, or if you have zone valves a bypass valve (automatic type is preferable to a gate valve) should be put in before the zone valves.

OP boiler is not a combi. Do as kev says first with pump, but also check for 240V at pump.

If not there its time to start looking at possible pcb problems, as this powers the pump.

Cheers fellas

Sorry about calling the boiler a combi when it seems it isn't but hey Kev and Dav top guys thanks.

I've reset it and the overheat light as gone off and it is now it seems like it is running ok....

Bolier light is on and all other lights come on when it fires up to heat water... is this right?

Sounds good even if I do think it's a combi!! ha-ha what a prick that guy is!!! lol

Thanks
Daniel

Sorry Baxpoti I forgot you! thank you too :)

All three great help cheers.......

Only may have counted chickens too soon!!!............

All lights now off and nothing happening!!??

Helppppppp please

Could just be that hot water is up to temp on the hw cyl stat so has switched it all off.

Try putting the ch on, turn the room stat up and see if it comes back on. Then turn it all off again.
