Bedding shower tray in

Hello All,
I am about to install a shower tray for 1st time tommorow, i have done loads of baths.

The installation instructions say lay tray on ply and a weak cement mix, now my question is, this tray is so damn heavy that it will just slice through a weak cement mix, anybody give me any pointers please?

if it sits level i tend to silicone them down
