Beko Dishwasher leaking into base

Our Beko dishwasher is stuck on permanent drain due to water sitting in the base. We have tipped it and got all the water out of the base (of which there was a lot) but this didn't 'fix' the problem as it seems to for so many.

If you pour water into the machine you can hear it trickling out down into the base - it does seem to pump out into the drain fine so I'm guessing it's not a blocked drain / impeller but maybe a seal in the sump?

Does this sound like an easy DIY job? Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I should be looking at?

Do you mean the water is getting through the motor seal and underneath, into where the actual motor and various electric components are situated?
